Open Universities Australia (OUA), is the leading online university
service provider in Australia.  Owned by seven leading Australian
universities, OUA offers 700 units of study and more than 50 degrees at
undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
 
OUA has over 25,000 students and is looking for a Web Content Editor to
join the Business Development team in a 12 month maternity replacement
position.
 
The Incumbent will proactively manage all Internet and Intranet content.
This will require you to liaise with all areas of the business including
Business Development, Academic Programs; as well as external parties.
 
Key Responsibilities:
    * Design and creation of all Portal pages via the Web-sphere Content
Management system.
    * Provide technical support and advice on web content applications
and tools.
    * Deployment of all web content following the change control processes.
    * All web content pages are 100% complete and tested prior to being
implemented into production.
    * All work is documented and stored in the Wiki.
    * Quality assurance is performed on all web content.
    * Development and operational management of academic, client and
staff site areas.
    * Management of content updates and error identification for all
site areas.
    * Administration of the web content management system.
    * Management of publication process for all site areas, including
scheduling, site taxonomy and conformance to online accessibility and
usability principles.
    * Analysis of web data and production of web reports, including user
behaviour tracking, as required.
    * Pro-actively negotiate with stakeholders to identify problems and
the suitability of potential solutions.
    * Engage in all web based project activities and the generation of
user test scripts.

Key Selection Criteria - skills, abilities and knowledge:
    * Dream weaver, Flash and Fireworks skills highly recommended.
    * Strong HTML and CSS highly recommended.
    * Experience of using Web Trends for user behaviour reporting.
    * Understanding of online usability and accessibility principles.
    * Demonstrated understanding of writing for the public in an online
medium and publishing content particularly in an education environment
    * Understanding and appreciation of Government legislation regarding
all forms of online communication
    * Proven experience managing web content through a Content
Management system
    * Proven time management and organisational ability, particularly in
managing competing workloads with minimal supervision, meeting tight
deadlines, delivering to agreed quality standards and the ability to
prioritize work.
    * Well developed problem solving skills, including a demonstrated
ability to investigate issues and derive solutions and/or suggest,
improvements.
    * Proven ability to work as part of a team and maintain effective
working relationships.
    * Well developed written and interpersonal communication skills
including an ability to explain concepts and processes to stakeholders
and to train them in these concepts if required.
    * A background in online communications is considered highly desirable.
