You might be interested in some examples of the kinds of workflows Tenix
has implemented for content management workflows (see below - more stuff
along the same line is also available on my web site). These have been
fully integrated into our engineering change management process to
ensure that the documentation is updated in tight concert with the
overall engineering processes. These considerations would probably apply
to all cases where documentation is product related (e.g., software
development).
The great advantage of capturing process in workflow is that the
electronic process management system improves BOTH quality and speed. No
corners are cut, but there are no delays introduced by the physical
processing of paper folders, etc.......
