[australia] Introduction and Sydney meeting question

Hi,

I just joined this list and thought I'd introduce myself, while also
enquiring about the next meeting in Sydney - I believe it's during Open
Publish? Any further details?

Anyway, my name is Marius Coomans, some of you might know me from my days as
the MD of FirmwareDesign, a prominent distributor of Interactive Development
tools from the late eighties to the late DotCom era. Amongst other things (
http://temoana.coomans.com), in the past few years, I have helped
commercialise an Australian product (IT but not CMS) and successfully
launched it in the USA.  Lately I have come back to the business of
authoring and managing web content, advising a range of businesses on their
web strategy and web developers on their business strategy.

I am speaking at Open Publish this month about "The Failure of CMS". A
somewhat agressive title, but I take the view that we learn more from our
failures than our successes. That might be an interesting subject for some
on this list who make their living trying to protect others (and ourselves)
from having failures with the implementation CMS.

This list has been pretty quiet, looking at the archives. Is anyone
interested in "chewing over" some of the aspects of our business where we
haven't lived up to expectations (or where the users don't live up to
expectations)?
